Re-Processed with Deep Sky Stacker (DSS) & StarTools8 (ST8) using the same subs (individual Pictures) from the Sep 5, 2024 session above.

  • Scope: Meade 8″ LX200R
  • Camera: ZWO ASI183MM
  • Filters: Optolong LRGB
  • Bin 2×2
  • Reducer: 0.5x Antares
  • Focuser: Antares Micro w/ myFP2esp32 controller
  • Mount: Tripod w/Equtorial Wedge
  • Images: 90L 30R 30G 30B @120 seconds each
  • Exposure: 120s x 180 = 360 Minutes
  • Processing: Stacked with DSS & processed with ST8.
  • Notes: This image is my first successful image processed with DSS+ST8, which more of a ‘Scientific’ method than the ‘Artistic’ method above with Affinity2 software. This time it was processed using only LRGB (No Ha filter images used). Lots of Hydrogen still visible as red, but ST8 seems to bring out more of the ‘Natural’ colors, especially in the stars surrounding the Nebula.
